I was recently throwing out a bunch of old junk and found my stash of old concert tickets. The envelope they were in almost got tossed out, so as a way of preserving treasures like these, I decided to permanently archive them by scanning them. This collection represents only a fraction of concerts I went to. For many shows I did not keep the stubs or I was on a guest list and therefore didn't get physical tickets. For most of the '90s, I was working in the music industry in Chicago so I had much interest and opportunity to see many shows. After I left the music industry and moved to Los Angeles in 1998, my interest in live concerts diminished greatly as you can see by the poor amount of stubs after 1998.

1981
Pat Benatar w/Billy Squier - 7/28/81
Checkerdome, St. Louis

(This was my first big arena rock concert. I had such a huge crush on Pat Benatar at the time. Unfortunately my seats were as far back as possible, and I could barely even see Pat on the stage. When I would see her a few years later, I managed to get front row center seats!)
The Rolling Stones - 11/19/81
Checkerdome, St. Louis

(My second big rock concert! This time I bought a ticket from a scalper outside the event for $35. At the time, I could not believe I spent that much money to see a show! More than twice the face value!)
1982
The Police w/Jone Jett - 4/1/82
Checkerdome, St. Louis
Split Enz - 6/14/82
Some small club east of St. Louis in Illinois
The Go-Gos w/Flock of Seagulls - 10/7/82
Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis
1983
Neil Young - 1/30/83
Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis
(The TRANS tour! I don't care what most people thought, but I thought this show rocked!)
Pat Benatar - 3/9/83
Checkerdome, St. Louis
X and The Replacements- 10/24/83
Mississippi Nights, St. Louis
(One of the best nights of my life! X was my favorite band at the time, and as a bonus, they had this band from Minneapolis called the Replacements open the show. Tommy Stinson was just a little boy holding onto a giant bass. Bob, his brother, was in a diaper, and Paul Westerberg held the whole thing together despite how drunk he was. The next day I bought their album "Hootenany", and my obsession with the Replacements began.)
1984
Culture Club - 4/14/84
Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis
The Clash - 5/21/84
Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis
(A truly horrible show. I loved the Clash at the time but this was after Mick Jones left the band, and they had released that horrible album "Cut the Crap". After the show, I managed to head to an after-party for Laurie Anderson who had just performed her "United States" performance. I met her, and she gladly signed my album. In hindsight, I would much rather have seen her show than the Clash, but at the time, the Clash won out.)
